Principal - Saeed Amin

Saeed left England in 1995 and worked in a number of high school in Perth (Balga, Lockeridge, Applecross, Mount Lawley) until his appointment as Principal mid-2004.  He feels extremely lucky to be working with a highly talented and dedicated staff who are delivering the very best, successful and innovative teaching and learning programs possible. He  believes the strength and success of the school lies in the quality of people working here in particular the high level of professionalism, the quality of teaching and the wonderful, collaborative support staff provide for each other.  Along with his wife and two children, Saeed is thoroughly enjoying his time having developed arguably into the best fisherman on island.

Deputy Principal/Campus Manager, Home Island - Heather Prance

Heather taught here in the early childhood classroom on West Island in the early nineties and has experience in both city and Kimberley schools as a teacher and acting deputy. She is extremely honoured to have won this position beginning in 2005 and to be working so closely with the Cocos Malay community on Home Island. Heather acknowledges that managing a campus that is 100% ESL has its challenges but the highly dedicated, merit select staff ensure they are met with high level professionalism and outstanding teaching. She finds it is great to manage a campus where behaviour management is not the number one issue - on Cocos it is all about quality teaching and learning.

Deputy Principal/Campus Manager, West Island - Mike Roberts

Mike Roberts taught English here in the eighties and has had experience in many other District High Schools both as a teacher (mainly English, but he has also has taught most other subjects over the years) and as Deputy Principal and Principal. He returned to Cocos as a classroom teacher and then went on to take up the role of Secondary Deputy Principal, and Campus Manager of the West Island campus.   Mike believes that here on Cocos, with a merit selected staff, wonderful students and a beautiful environment, how could you go wrong?
