Every year the P&C hosts a fete which includes the auction of goods donated by local people and businesses, as well as off-island businesses such as National Jet (the airline that services the islands). In lieu of paying voluntary contributions and charges, the P & C usually raise in excess of $25000 from the fete to cover these costs. This massive community support assists to fund special events such as sending our Year Ten students to Perth for an experiential field trip, and flying up swimming teachers each year for whole school lessons. The fete and monster auction involves many weeks of hard work and preparation by the P&C committee who do a marvellous job to make this day so successful.
